Frequently asked questions
Why do we give?
At Grace, we believe that giving is what God wants for us, not from us. It’s a spiritual practice that shapes us into being more like Jesus, redirecting our focus off of ourselves and onto others. Just as God exemplified outrageous generosity by sending His Son, our act of generous giving echoes this profound love and reflects it to those around us, becoming a testament to our neighbors of God's grace in our lives.
How are my donations being used?
Your giving to Grace is impacting the local community and the world in profound ways! Email finance@gracesarasota.com to request last year's annual report to see how your tithes and gifts are impacting the kingdom through Grace. You can also read about the community outreach, community partners, and global impact that your giving directly funds above.
Can I designate my giving to certain areas of ministry?
We use a "one fund" approach which ensures that every contribution, regardless of the amount, supports the comprehensive ministry of Grace. Whether you give one dollar or a million, you can know that your giving is supporting everything we do from keeping children out of foster care to planting hundreds of churches around the world. By maintaining a unified fund, we guarantee that each ministry receives the exact resources they require, avoiding imbalances where some have excess while others lack. Occasionally, we do provide opportunities for the Grace family to selectively contribute to specific funds requiring special attention, as guided by our leadership.
End-of-Year Contributions
You can give your year-end donations online or in person. Online contributions made by midnight on December 31 are recorded as contributions for that same year. All contributions received or postmarked after December 31 are recorded as contributions for the following year. Year-end giving statements are emailed by no later than January 31 to the email address we have on file.
