We're SO MUCH more than what we've become...

King Herod's regret informs us of the kingdom of man.

In Mark 6, King Herod makes a reckless promise to his stepdaughter and soon finds himself trapped by his own words. Although deeply distressed by her request for the head of John the Baptist, Herod surrenders to the expectations of his guests, the fear of public embarrassment, and the pressures surrounding his throne. How often do we allow the pressures of this world to determine our choices? Like Simba abandoning his kingdom and forgetting who he was called to be, we can lose sight of our identity and purpose. Yet just as Simba’s father calls him to remember who he is, Jesus calls us back to the way of His Kingdom. The world tells us to climb over others in pursuit of power, status, and approval. Jesus reveals a better way: lowering ourselves, serving others, and trusting God with the consequences. Will we surrender to the crowd, or will we remember who we are and follow our King?Thank you for tuning in with us, we hope this message is a blessing for you. Our Mission: Grace Community Church exists to reach the unchurched by being intentional neighbors that reflect Christ.
