Hope After The Hurricane

After the impact of Hurricane Milton, Pastor Chip uses this weekend to address the brevity of life.

Take Home 1: Remember the fragility of life (Ps 103:14-16)

  • When you think about how fragile life really is, how does that change the way you live? What does this mean for you?
  • How can you remember the fragility of life in your everyday life?

Take Home 2: Recognize the brevity of our lives (James 4:13-16)

  • With life being as short as it is, how will you spend the little time that you have?
  • Read James’s instructions in James 4:13–17? What principle is at the heart of these verses?

Take Home 3: Today is the first day of the rest of our lives (Mt. 6:33)

  • What are you going to live for that will make you come alive?
  • Are you tired of simply surviving and not thriving?
  • When you look at your life, what are the things that you are seeking first?

Take Home 4: Reset the lens through which we see – obstacle or opportunity?

  • What obstacle(s) in your life right now could become an opportunity?
  • Reflect on the hardships or challenges you've gone through in your life (past or present). Where could you use a perspective shift?
  • What are some things that keep you from having faith or trusting God?

Take Home 5: Research the trees

  • In what ways is God currently at work in your life?
  • Unlike the trees in the biodome experiment that Pastor Chip talked about, are you planting & growing deep roots?
  • Are you going to decide to grow in your walk with Christ? If so, how can you grow in this next season?

Take Home 6: Refuse to allow anything to keep you from becoming all God has for you (Rev 21:5)

  • Do you really believe that He can make all things new? Do you believe that He can make all things new in your life?
  • What’s the biggest take away from this weekend’s message? What can you apply to your life this next week?
